Pockets [of light]

Wow, time sure flies when...well, you know the saying.  But summer is [almost] officially over. It truly was a whirlwind summer.  I can't believe it is over, it seemed so fast, but yet again, sometimes seemed  so slow.  And suddenly here we are.  The first official week of the 2012 - 2013 school year!!!

Well, actually, as of today, everyone was SUPPOSED to be back into the groove.  But a late summer illness already knocked two of my munchkins down and instead of my first day home alone, I instead had two sick kiddos to contend with.

But luckily it was a fairly minor cold with just one day of being run down and feverish, and now everyone is almost back to normal.  So tomorrow SHOULD [finally] be back to normal.

Over the last month or so, I have been really trying to live more in the moment.  I know that spending time watching what others are doing, and worrying about things I can't control, is a complete waste of time and energy.  So I just stopped.  I stopped worrying, I stopped paying attention, I stopped it all.  And  I honestly already feel SO much better.

One way I am making sure I am enjoying the moments is by embarking on another " Photo a day" project.  It is hard to explain to someone why this project is SO amazing, but you just have to do it to understand.

Yes, there are days (sometimes many days) where I have a photo of something mundane and uninteresting. And there are some days you completely forget to get a photo at all (or accidentally delete the photo you did get, ugh).

But there are also the days when you notice some great late evening sunlight,  and can successfully rope your kiddos into a 2 minute photo session.  And end up with some beautiful images.  Images I never would have had if I didn't have this project always in the back of mind.

Tonight was such a night.  It was after dinner, the kids were getting outside after dinner (and after finally feeling much better).   And it was beautiful.

Until next time!!!!!
