Fall family on the farm! | Foxburg Pennsylvania family photography

When I initially chatted with this beautiful mom about setting up a family session, she said she really wanted to take advantage of the fall colors.  So I suggested early October, which is USUALLY when everything is amazingly bright and beautiful.  And then she said she was working on getting permission to do the session at a gorgeous location.  This really had all the ingredients for the most perfect fall photography session! they say....the best laid plans......

It ended up being a very green weekend as our fall colors were much later than usual.  And the day that we scheduled ended up with impending rain!  And with busy schedules on both ends....trying to reschedule quickly is next to impossible.  So we crossed fingers and hoped for the best.

Well, things started off perfectly....until we got about 15 minutes of shooting in and then there was rain.  And more rain.  And still more rain.  And not just a little was a literal downpour.  So we tried to continue the session by using overhangs working around the weather.  Fortunately, by the end of the session, we finally saw some sun and finished our beautiful session.

In spite of the challenges, this was still one of my most favorite fall sessions!  Thank you all so much!

A Saturday Morning | Lifestyle family photography

Last fall I spent a cold (and first snowy day!) of the season meeting this family.  Mom just wanted a simple indoor session of her sweet little girls in their own little world complete with pjs, fuzzy slippers, book reading and bed jumping!  And I thought that sounded pretty much PERFECT!

These two girls are also getting ready to welcome a new baby sister to the family soon so we spent some time hanging out in the new nursery.

I just love these types of sessions as they are so much fun for EVERYONE...especially the kiddos!  I know that most (all?) little munchkins usually are fine during a typical photo session for, well...5 minutes?  HA!  But honestly, getting the littlest kiddos to cooperate and be happy during a session is often really hard. However, with a lifestyle session, the kids get to...just BE A KID!

But onto the photos!

Happy Birthday Miss Molly! | Clarion, Pennsylvania Child Photography

This spring I had the privilege to spend a morning with this little munchkin and her family.  I met this one about a year ago when I took her newborn portraits....and, in the blink of an eye, she is suddenly ONE.

This session actually took place ON her first birthday so it was extra special.  I just love first year portraits.  The little ones are usually not too mobile so they don't run away from you, and usually you can coax some adorable expressions with just a bit of goofiness.

Miss Molly was a little wary of me at first, but she was sweet and (mostly) happy and eventually warmed up a bit especially when she heard there was CAKE TO BE HAD!  Yes, we ended the session with a cake smash with the most beautiful smash cake and props provided by mom.

Oh - and I should add, big news in this family....Miss Molly is going to be joined by a little brother or sister by the end of the year!!  So that is VERY exciting indeed!

Thank you all so much for choosing me again for your family portraits!!!!

Now onto the photos!
